Jane Addams Day!

Today is Jane Addams Day in Illinois!! Since 2007, the state has commemorated Miss Addams, the first American woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize on December 10, 1931. Jane Addams (1860 – 1935) was the founder of the US Settlement House movement and is known today as the mother of social work.

KB design is proud to be apart of the 3rd Annual Tea with Jane event that happens this day each year. This is a project that we have worked on since the very beginning and feel honored to be asked again each year to provide invitations, etc. for the event. We thought it would be fun to put together some images that have shown the invites over the past 3 years. The first one was spectacular as it was our 1st one and we agreed we wanted to make a splash! The following 2 kept with tradition and the message of: ‘Honor the Past, Serve the Present, Prepare for the Future!’

Please visit www.hullhouse.org to learn more & we will post photos of the event after!

Inspiration

The one question I get a lot is where does your inspiration/creativity come from? I find it comes from a variety of things, but I have another passion for interior design/furniture design. I thought I would share one of my most favorite sites-Designers Guild. Tricia Guild owner, designer, etc…is amazing with her patterns, fabrics, rugs, and the list could go on. Her newest book ‘Pattern’ is such eye candy (cover shown center). Enjoy a few highlight images I pulled to give you a feel.
